In 2005, nearly 375,000 new foreigners were allowed position in Japan, out of which 61% of them were granted a residency status for work. The rest were mostly tourists and business visitors who don’t have permits for work.

In Japan, these bidets are called washlets, and include many advanced features rarely seen outside of Asia. The feature set found on washlets are anus washing, bidet washing, seat warming, and deodorization.
